Labrador Recycling was founded in 2013 and has grown to be one of the premier scrap metal brokers in the United States, trading worldwide. Labrador is a sister company of the Joseph Freedman Company, Inc., founded in 1891. JFC is one of the oldest and largest independently owned and operated private metal recyclers in New England, implementing best practices every day and committed to continual improvement. Our word is our bond and we value working with our employees and customers creating long term relationships.

Within the United States, we work directly with dealers, generators, and industrial suppliers to source high-quality scrap metal grades, then place that material directly into the hands of domestic end users — steel mills, aluminum smelters, copper refiners, and high-temperature alloy consumers — who rely on us for consistent volume, accurate grading, and dependable delivery. We work directly with our consuming partners to ensure they receive clean, consistent feedstock that meets their exact specifications. We also supply RSI (Remelt Secondary Ingot) to mills across the USA, giving aluminum producers a reliable secondary feedstock source. We regularly supply the following grades: 1100 Alloy, 3003 Alloy, 5052 Alloy, Class 1 / Class 2 / Class 3, and UBC.

Labrador Recycling's brokerage network extends across North America, with established buying relationships throughout Canada and Mexico. We work directly with dealers, generators, and industrial suppliers in both countries to source high-quality scrap metal grades, giving our partners a trusted outlet regardless of where their material originates.
